GUEST REVIEWS 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 "Perfect! A beautiful relaxing home away from home!" Reviewed 3 February 2013 Our group consisted of two adults and two teenagers staying a couple of nights at Whalers Cove Villas in the Rousseau Villa. Absolutely faultless service and accommodation, from the friendly and fast check-in and throughout our entire stay. Very well equipped kitchen, plush lounge room area to relax in, a delightful roomy courtyard where we enjoyed two evening meals and breakfasts, the bedrooms were very comfortable, everything neat and spotless. The villa was very quiet and private. A hop skip and a jump to the lovely beach was the icing on the cake. Everyone had a great time, there was plenty of room for all, and we were all very sad to leave after our short vacation. Many thanks to Management for making us feel like welcome special guests, we certainly will be coming back again :-) "Kids most favourite place in the world!" Reviewed 4 January 2013 We have stayed in "Mayflower" at Whalers Cove Villas for the past 5 years and have had the most amazing holiday every year. We share Mayflower with close family friends and love the location, the villa is beautifully appointed and have never had any issues with lighting or ceiling fans. Managers, Pam and Nicky are fantastic people who have always been very obliging and helpful. We look forward to our 2 weeks at Whalers all year long and couldn't imagine staying anywhere else! Stayed December 2012, travelled with family "Excellent Location, Good Accommodation." Reviewed 20 November 2012 Very Good, well equiped villas in an excellent, quiet location (very close to the beach), William Tell 2Bedroom Villa had the added bonus of Foxtel with every channel, especially good for kids quiet time before bed. We would definitely stay again. My only winge is no iPod Dock, come on guys it is the 21st Century. "Perfect for a couples or family getaway!"; Reviewed 19 November 2012 Was very impressed with every facet of Whalers Cove. Very spacious villas, modern decor, great location (literally a 1 minute walk to the beach). Husband and I went there for our anniversary (just the two of us) but would suit groups or families looking for a getaway. Highly recommended!! Sanchiar "Birthday treat" Reviewed 5 November 2012 Excellent accommodation. Very clean, comfortable. great location on the beach. Good quality cooking facilities and utensils etc. Very comfortable 4 poster beds, excellent showers in both bathrooms. All in all a very relaxing time, with everything you need at hand. "Great villa in a great location" Reviewed 1 November 2012 We were one of 2 families sharing the 4 bed beach front villa called Catalpa. It's in a great location, right on the beach, walkable to the local town, and easily accessible to all the main attractions in Margaret River. The managers on site were very friendly and helpful, they recommended a winery to us which wasn't even on our list and ended up being our favourite. The villa itself is very spacious, has all the facilities you'd expect and is in very good condition. To be balanced- my (slight) criticism would be that there were very few coat hangers, and the pillows weren't that comfortable - however this really was a minor issue, and compared to all the positives about this place, including washing machines, DVD players, stereo system etc. it in no way detracts from 5 stars. Some additional nice touches, that shifted the villa from being good to great was that there was wood paper etc. for evening log fires, and on our final day when the BBQ gas ran out, it was replaced free of charge, no questions asked. Overall I'd recommend this villa highly to anyone visiting this beautiful part of the world, we'll be going back. Stayed October 2012, traveled with family "Luxury at its best"; Reviewed 30 October 2012 8 of us stayed at Villa Halcyon for an extended weekend. The villa is absolute beachfront with the most magnificent views of Geographe Bay. It is walking distance to all the cafe's and shops. The villa is massive with plenty of room for 8 people. The bedrooms are spacious and well equipped with loads of hanging space. The kitchen is to die for and had everything we needed. The staff were very welcoming and even came down to help take our group photos before our "girls lunch". Loved the place and will definitely be back. "Halcyon villa, whalers cove"; Reviewed 29 October 2012 We stayed for 3 nights at the Halcyon villa, a four bedroom luxury villa right on the beach front with the most amazing view overlooking coastline. The villa itself was immaculately clean and decorated to the highest of standards. It was well equipped with everything and more you could need in the kitchen. All the bedrooms were very comfortable with good quality linen and plenty of storage space. Bathroom and showers were excellent as were the towels. Although we did not use them there was a washing machine and tumble dryer available. The villa is open plan, however there is the possibility to close off a small section for some quiet time if needed. There was also a loft area which could be used but the stairs may be a little too steep for very young children, but there was a gate at the bottom of the steps, but I cannot remember if this had a lock or not. The outside area had a large table and chairs, perfect for that evening meal, just beware of the kamikazee beetles and the flies were a bit of a nuisance but not enough to put you off sitting and enjoying the scenery. The location on the beach front is fantastic and you ever got tired of the beach there is the grass area in front of the villa to utilise. The beach is very family friendly and the water in Oct was warm, clear and shallow, perfect for adults and children. This was a treat for us having come over from the UK however I would have no hesitation in recommending this to everyone and am already looking to return, unfortunately not until Nov 2014 when my niece gets married. Thank you for a lovely stay. Room Tip: Halcyon villa, has four bedrooms, big enough easily for two families or even four couples. Stayed October 2012, traveled with family "Best location on Dunsborough's beach"; Reviewed 26 September 2012 Villa Neptune lived up to the photos. The view from the kitchen, lounge and balcony was fantastic - whales, pelicans, locals walking their dogs - and the neighbouring villas tucked out of sight. One of the cleanest places I have stayed in, and the furnishings felt fresh and well-cared for. Perfect family spot because there is only a bike path between you and the beach. You can also walk into town easily. Not cheap, but you didn't feel cheated either. ASouthgate "Luxury by the beach just south of Perth" Reviewed 18 September 2012 Past Mandurah, past Bunbury, past Busselton, heading for Cape Naturaliste, we found these gorgeous villas. Expensive for us Kiwis at $260/night, but spacious and comfy, and just off the beach. Many places will only do a minimum two nights stay which didn't suit our plans, so we were pleased to find this villa. The lady manager was friendly and interesting to talk to. Room Tip: Ours was called 'William Tell' "Excellent choice"; Reviewed 24 July 2012 We stayed a few nights over school holidays for a 'mums and kids' mini break. Our Villa was William Tell which consists of two bedrooms plus a loft. Having done an on-line booking, check in was very efficient - basically grab the keys and answering any questions I had. Super efficient! We arrived later in the day than expected, so were very happy that the manager had gone in to the villa and kindly turned on the heating ready for us. Such a welcome gesture and it set the tone for our stay. The villa was clean and well equipped including a basic tea, coffee welcome pack. Beds were very comfy with good quality linen. The loft was accessed by a very steep ladder, which was fine for our 7 - 9 year olds, but could pose a problem for younger children or those that need to use the bathroom during the night. Positives: Friendly and helpful service, fabulous location, well equipped kitchen, good heating for winter, clean, lovely safe atmosphere. Negatives: Cleaner had left some bleach in the laundry tub which resulted in bleach marks on kids clothes. One electric blanket was faulty. Both of these were only minor issues which we pointed out to the manager who undertook that the cleaner would be informed and that the electric blanket will be replaced. Overall, we would love to come back here and would definitely recommend Whalers Cove to friends. Stayed July 2012, traveled with family "Lovely villas, perfect for families or friends travelling together" Reviewed 21 June 2012 I have stayed in a few different Whalers Cove villas - all have been clean, well furnished and spacious. The villas are just a roomy townhouse, and staying with another couple with young children was no problem as there is plenty of room and bedrooms. Th beds are comfortable, the kitchen well equipped - i.e. proper cutlery, knives and a decent selection of pots. The location is fabulous, right on the beach and a short walk from the town centre. For our most recent stay the booking process was very easy and the staff kept in contact to see if there was anything we would need during our visit. Stayed March 2012, traveled with friends “Great location” Reviewed 9 March 2012 Stayed in villa called Neptune with 7 others on a girls weekend away. Villa is nice, spacious has nearly everything you need. There are 4 rooms 2 With queen beds and 1 With A Double the Last room has a bunk bed and a trundle bed in it. The villa Could do with an interior Reno, especially the bathrooms and their is no aircon. Is located right next to a public beach access walk way and can be quite loud on some of the rooms from people walking past and tallking But even with these negatives it is still a nice little villa. It is located right on the beach and it is s short stroll into the town centre so couldn't really get a better location . Has an outside Bali hut day bed which is a lovely place to just relax. Stayed March 2012 "WOW!! I want to live here!" Reviewed 22 February 2012 First of all, the location is just amazing. You come out of your door, walk down the pathway and you're at the most gorgeous beach! crystal clear waters, no waves, knee height for half a km or so. Perfect for families with bubs! We stayed in the 2 bed, 2 bath villa (Pioneer) and we were VERY impressed. spacious, clean, large kitchen with all the appliances you could possibly need, a BBQ out back, with a small backyard with grass that our 1 year old loved to play in, nice and quiet, about 10 mins stroll to shops/restaurants/cafes, Lots of room for bubs to run around in, 3 TV's in the villa, Nice big bathrooms. The only complaint I have is that I wish there was a ducted air-con. There was a split system in the family room and fans in the bedrooms. For some reason the fan was freaking out our 1 year old in his bedroom so we had to leave it off and his room got pretty hot even though the air-con in the family room was at max power and I let his door open a little to let the cooler air in. Even in our bedroom with the fan going, it was a bit warm and got a little uncomfortable at nights. The last night that we were there, there seemed to be some kind of animal walking around the roof or something - I don't know if it was in the roof, or on top but it kept me up for some time with all the noise that it was making walking around. All in all, we would definitely recommend this place and return here if we were to come to dunsborough again. Stayed February 2012, travelled with family. |
